THE employers of a woman raising money for Help For Heroes have donated £500 to her cause.

Debra Collins,45, will have her head shaved at the end of the month for the charity and is also donating her hair to the Little Princess Trust. .

She said: “It’s amazing, I wasn’t expecting it at all, I’m blown away by it.

“They’ve been the biggest donators so far and I only started working here six weeks ago. I’m never going to be able to climb a mountain but shaving my head is something I can do to raise money.”

Debra’s friend Graham Stobbs suffers from PTSD after working in the armed forces. He is planning his own fundraising challenge for next year.

Advance Insurance general manager Carlo Frijia was happy to support one of his newest employees.

He said: “We love Deb and it’s a brilliant cause, what she’s doing is awesome.”

“We really want to get behind her and do everything we can to support her.

“It’s always nice to support charities, especially when there is a local connection, it’s good for community spirit.”

He said: “I figured it was time to raise awareness of PTSD and raise money for Help for Heroes myself.

“The charity do a campaign called Hidden Wounds which supports veterans with mental health issues."
