Poundstretcher will relaunch its Swindon store this weekend following a closure of almost a fortnight.

The store at St. Margaret’s Retail Park on Oxford Road will officially reopen at 8.30am on Saturday, July 29.

A spokesman for the firm said: "With over £350,000 invested in the refurbishment, the store has had a complete makeover both internally and externally, benefiting from new flooring, new shopping fixtures, air conditioning, and overall creating a high quality shopping experience.

"Poundstretcher provides customers with bargains on a huge variety of branded household products. From gardening gear at our very own Garden Shop to stylish homeware products, as well as a wide variety of toiletries and top branded confectionary and drinks.

"We offer amazing value so customers can kit out their homes and stock up on branded household essentials for less.

"The new store format allows for a bigger range of branded household and food products to customers and an enhanced shopping experience."

The refurbishment of the store is also understood to have created additional employment for the local area.

Area manager Mark McGeehan said: “We are delighted to have invested in our Swindon store.

"Our customers will experience a modern, fresh shopping experience with an improved ambience, choice and shopping experience.

“Gopal, store manager, and his team very much look forward to welcoming our Swindon customers to their new look store.”
