Children's hospice charity Jessie May has made it to the final round of the National Lottery Good Causes Awards in the category of Best Health.

The charity is now hoping to get enough votes to win their category and get a £5,000 prize at a star-studded awards ceremony that will be broadcast on national TV this autumn.

Jessie May provides nursing care at home for children and young people in with life-limiting conditions who aren't expected to live beyond the age of 19, supporting families in the South West through difficult times.

Voting closes at midnight on Thursday July 27.

Debbie Clark, Jessie May's corporate and community fundraising officer for Swindon and Wiltshire, said: "This nomination is particularly exciting as it recognises the quality of the nursing care we provide to children."

Strictly Come Dancing winner Ore Oduba will host this year's awards.

He said: "The National Lottery Awards celebrate and recognise the inspirational and life-changing impact of National Lottery funded projects.

"Each week, National Lottery players raise more than £30 million for arts, sport, heritage and community projects across the UK."

The TV star endorsed the charity. He added: "Having won Strictly Come Dancing voting last year, I know how much getting public support means.

"Please take a few seconds to vote for Jessie May. Go on, put a smile on their faces!"
