A CLOSE friend and work colleague of a popular Swindonian who died suddenly in April is preparing to take part in two major London events to raise money for mental health charities in his memory.

Greg Wells worked with Jason Titcombe for 19 years and is now preparing to run the London Landmarks Half-Marathon for Swindon Mind and then run next year’s London Marathon to raise money for the Mental Health Foundation.

It follows a fundraising campaign that exceeded all expectations, as a GoFundMe page that Jason’s nephew Jake Jell set up to raise money for Swindon Mind, which received thousands of pounds from more than 100 generous donors locals and organisations who were all shocked and saddened by the passing of the beloved family man and friend to many.

It is hoped this will raise awareness of mental health issues and encourage more people, particularly men, to feel more comfortable with opening up and talking about their troubles and emotional problems.

Donations are still being accepted for the fundraising page set up in Jason’s memory. To donate visit gofundme.com/in-memory-of-jason-titcombe
