Welsh rappers Goldie Lookin Chain will be dropping in to Swindon on Saturday, August 5 bringing a taste of controversial, comedic hip-hop.
The eight-piece band, best known for their hit singles Guns Don't Kill People Rappers Do, Half Man Half Machine, Your Missus Is A Nutter and You Knows I Love You, are part of a drive to bring top bands to the new look Level 111 nightclub in Commercial Road.
2Hats, Eggsy, Billy Webb, Mystikal, Mike Balls, Adam Hussain, Rhys aka PXain and Graham the Bear who make up the current line-up of Goldie Lookin Chain are known for their satire, poking fun at the chavs of society, the American hip-hop scene and their own heartland of Newport.
The rappers are strong football supporters, particularly of Newport County, they sponsored the club in the 2004-2005 season. They were stable mates on East/West Record label with The Darkness and supported them on the rock band on their UK tour. They also shared the same stage as Super Furry Animals and The Streets. The guys latest album, Pill Communication, is out now.
“This is our ninth or tenth proper album and I think it’s the best one so far.” says GLC stalwart Eggsy.”We are dedicating the album to Terry Wogan and Paul Daniels who were both massive GLC fans.”
