Irrelevant questions

WHAT a bizarre letter from Terry Reynolds (where are they now) on July 22.

He begins by accusing Mark of using left wing rhetoric, then rambles on about a picture of a boat in the Daily Mail and the whereabouts of three million migrants in the UK and then demands that Mark gives answers to questions he raised on Jeremy Corbyn and student loans, the personal allowance and strike action.

After reading Terry’s mish-mash of a letter a couple of times we concluded that he was replying to a letter by Mark (Tears of Theresa) on July 21.

Can Terry explain the relevance of his questions to the letter he was replying to?

We regarded Terry’s letter as a lazy one, as it appears he didn’t have the letter he was replying to close at hand but was writing from memory.

MARTIN and MARK WEBB Swindon Road, Old Town, Swindon Film was excellent

MY WIFE and I had the pleasure of doing to see Dunkirk at Cineworld, Shaw Ridge.

It is an excellent film and we enjoyed every minute. Unlike some cinema-goers in other localities we had no problem with the audibility.

The background music was great and the acting marvellous. Harry Styles, of One Direction, played an excellent part and must have a great future in the film industry.

My wife and I are in our 70s and are pleased we went to see this film. Although the cinema was by not full (we went to the 3.10pm performance) no one left their seats until the credits finished rolling. Thank you Cineworld for showing this great film.

Hague’s new motto?

IT WAS amusing to hear that William Hague has added his support for Britain having a transitional period after leaving the EU.

His less than frank motto when he was leader of the Conservative Party at the 2005 General Election was “In Europe but not governed by Europe” and this caused me to join UKIP .

Now his motto should be “Out of Europe but still government by Europe.” Who is he trying to fool this time?

Parking chaos here

THE letter from Alan Wilson says no more than the people of Swindon already know.

Go to Manchester Road any day of the week and you’ll find at least 10 vehicles parked in either illegal bays or pavements or just on double yellow lines. It is chaos and there is no sign ever of a traffic warden.

It’s the same in Gorse Hill shopping centre, go on a Friday and see the cars parked at will and again not a warden in sight.

What do these two managers and 16 wardens do? Oh, I know, they chase cars parked outside the church in Eastleaze on a Sunday.
