A MAN who admitted trying to steal motorbikes from a haulage yard has been warned he could be jailed.

Mark Meakin pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted theft when he appeared at Swindon Crown Court.

The 38-year-old from Liverpool was one of a gang who tried to steal the vehicles from Les Smith Haulage on Friday November 25 last year.

Recorder Richard Onslow adjourned the case to Friday September 8 and released him on bail until then.

He said "I have ordered a presentence report. You must not read anything into that. When it comes to sentence it could be custody, it may not be custody, all options are open."
