A TEENAGER was punched in the face before having his mobile phone, cash and bank card stolen.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the robbery which took place in North Swindon on Friday, August 11.

At approximately 7pm, on a footpath which runs alongside Barlow Close, three unknown offenders approached a male teenager, assaulted him and stole his belongings.

The suspects are described as three males on bicycles with their faces covered.

Investigating officer PC Chris Hughes said: “We are looking for information from anyone who may have heard or seen anything suspicious in this area at this time.

"The assault took place in an open area near to many houses. These offenders, with face coverings on, would look very out of place and therefore it is certainly possible that they have been seen by someone either committing this offence or leaving the area shortly after.

"This was a very frightening incident for the victim and came out of nowhere.

"Fortunately, he was not seriously hurt but did receive minor injuries to his face."
