PEOPLE of all ages have been encouraged to head to Stratton in September to take part in the parish’s first autumn fair.

Book stalls, martial arts lessons, family photography and a good old fashioned tombola will be just some of the things on offer.

The event takes place at Meadowcroft Community Centre in Upper Stratton from midday until 5pm on Saturday, September 16.

Joe Tray, chairman of Stratton St Margaret Parish Council, said: “I’m really looking forward to the autumn fair, it should be a brilliant event.

“We do a lot of things at Grange Leisure, which is a fantastic venue. But we wanted to spread out in to the parish, which is why we decided to hold in at Meadowcroft.

“It will be a great way to start the autumn and there will be activities for people of all ages.”

Children will be treated to a Punch and Judy show, a treasure hunt, a splat-the-rat and will be able to have their faces painted.

There will also be the chance to buy handcrafted plaques and signs as well as writing instruments and jewellery.
