SWINDON Town have brought in Derby County duo Timi Elsnik and Kellan Gordon on transfer deadline day.

The two 19-year-old midfielders have been brought to the County Ground on season-long loan deals, with the Adver understanding that at least one more arrival is in the offing.

Elsnik is a central midfielder who signed a three-year deal with Derby County last summer.

The Slovenian youth international was named Derby's Scholar of the Year in 2016 after playing a vital role in their promotion campaign to the top flight of the Premier League Two pyramid.

Elsnik made his professional debut for Derby last August in the EFL Cup third round against Carlisle United, scoring twice in a 14-13 penalty shootout win, including the winning spot-kick, before coming on as a second-half substitute in the 3-0 defeat to Liverpool in the same competition.

Elsnik's only other appearance for the club came in the Carabao Cup this season, where he made a late cameo in the Rams' 1-0 win away to Grimsby.

Gordon is a highly thought of wide-attacking player, who has been a key part of Derby's U23 side, having played in both league games in the Premier League Two competition this season.

He signed his first professional contract with the Rams back in 2015 and, like Elsnik, he was part of the U21 side who won the Division Two title last year.

Gordon, who has already netted for the U23s this term, made 21 appearances last season, scoring three and assisting one.

The former Stoke City youngster also featured in all three of Derby's encounters in the Checkatrade Trophy and was a second-half substitute in the Carabao Cup against Grimsby this term.

Speaking earlier in the day, Swindon Town manager David Flitcroft said that he was looking to add depth to his squad on the final day of the transfer window.

“We’re looking to add depth,” he told the club's website.

“We’ve been up and down the country again most of the week speaking to clubs, speaking to agents, meeting players and speaking to players.

“We’ve been everywhere trying to plan for games, trying to recruit and making sure that we have got enough cover for when the window shuts.

“It has been extensive, it has been exhausting and I’m really glad that we are coming to the end of the window so that we can start to really galvanise the group and work with and improve the group."
