HAPLESS thieves crashed a motorbike into a Park South lampost - before returning to take the stolen bike away.

Wiltshire Police have released CCTV footage of the crash in a bid to find the two young thieves.

The motorbike was taken from Tunnicliffe Close overnight between Tuesday, September 5, and Wednesday, September 6.

The thieves were caught on video in the Park South area, colliding with a lamppost.

The passenger, who appears to be none the worse for the crash, walks away while the rider appears to collapse on the ground.

An hour later, the passenger returns and takes the bike away. It is not clear what happened to the rider.

Police have described the male rider as white, between 5ft 7in and 5ft 9ins tall, wearing a grey padded vest, black top, navy blue tracksuit bottoms, white trainers and a white and orange helmet.

The passenger is described as white, male, of a similar height to the driver, and wearing a black-hooded top with white stripes on the sleeves, navy blue jeans and black trainers.

The bike was later found in Netherton Close, Park South.
