SOME of music’s biggest names could be coming to Swindon next year.

Promoters the Culture Collective hope to bring a festival to the Polo Ground in late June, with global superstar DJs and live acts playing at the Broome Manor park.

The planned festival would include three stages, it has been proposed - including a stage for Swindon bands and groups.

Swindon-born Jack Summers, managing director of the Culture Collective, said: “We’re trying to do something different for Swindon. The festival scene has been growing very quickly over the last few years and we were very surprised nothing like this has happened in Swindon so far.

"I grew up in Old Town and spent much of my childhood on the polo ground and it has always been my dream to host something truly great for the people of Swindon on this site."

The festival organisers, who run Cornwall music festival Youth Culture and club nights across Europe, are in final discussions about licensing the festival.
