ADAM Ellis says there is no need to panic as Swindon Robins bid to book their place in the SGB Premiership play-off final with an aggregate victory over Poole Pirates tonight.

Following a marginal victory at Wimborne Road in the first leg two weeks ago, Swindon have a two-point advantage for the second leg of the semi final at the Abbey Stadium.

However, Swindon saw an 11-point lead overturned by Belle Vue on Friday night, as their SGB Premiership Knockout Cup campaign was brought to an abrupt end in the semi final second leg.

Far from denting confidence in the home camp though, former Pirate Ellis says he and his teammates have remained calm.

“I don’t think there is any reason to panic, it wasn’t the best night for us, but when we have Poole I think we should be all good,” said Ellis, who will go into tonight’s meeting after scoring 10 points on Friday.

“It was a good night for me, but I was a bit disappointed in the end to lose out in heat 15. But it is just one of those things and they (Belle Vue) were better than us on the night.

“There’s not much we can do about it now. I think most of the boys have forgotten about it already. It’s a bit gutting but we need to move on.

“I don’t know if it is a case of now or never, but we have a lead going into a home leg and any of us would have taken that before the first leg.

“We are in a pretty comfortable position as long as we don’t get complacent and take it for granted.

“We know that Poole can be good at our place. They drew with us at the beginning of the season but with the way we have been riding recently, I think we should be able to do the job.”

Swindon have skipper Jason Doyle, who missed Friday’s loss, back in contention while Bradley Wilson-Dean is also set to return and the hosts use Liam Carr in place of the injured Zach Wajtknecht.

Ellis thinks that could be the lift Alun Rossiter’s side are looking for as they bid for a final berth.

“Jason coming back is a big thing and it’s a big thing to have Bradley back too because I think he could have done better than Tomas H Jonasson on Friday,’’ added Ellis “I think it would have made the difference and got us through, but you can’t help it we just have to put things right tonight.”

Admission has been slashed to just £10 for all adults for the meeting.

SWINDON: Jason Doyle, Adam Ellis, Tobiasz Musielak, David Bellego, Nick Morris, Bradley Wilson-Dean, Liam Carr.
