Old Town's Christmas lights will be switched on on Sunday November 26.

The Old Town Business Association is gearing up for a spectacular stage show featuring entertainment and stalls before the big switch-on, which will see Wood Street and beyond transformed into a twinkling wonderland.

Details of the stage line-up and full range of activities are still being finalised but will be released in the coming weeks.

Alex Pollock, event co-ordinator and Old Town Business Association member, said: "Old Town’s Christmas lights switch on has got better and better each year, and we are working hard to make sure 2017 is the best show yet.

"We aim to showcase entertainment and acts for the whole family to enjoy, kick-starting everyone’s Christmas spirit.

"We’ve got lots planned throughout the day - many business will be open for trade, as well as having stalls along Wood Street.

"There’ll be plenty of surprises and loads of new features this year.”

The Old Town Business Association are working with local businesses, artists, the Central Swindon South Parish Council, and a number of sponsors to deliver a fantastic festive show. The fun kicks off at 1pm, with the big switch-on currently scheduled for 5pm.
