FOUR defendants who failed to turn up to face justice at court must now turn themselves in or face a night in the cells.
Magistrates sitting in Swindon last week issued warrants ordering the police to arrest those who had decided not to appear.
Andrew Macdonald, 28, of no fixed abode, is accused of stealing a debit card before withdrawing £190 and also stealing items from Tesco. Both offences are alleged to have taken place between September 6 and 19.
He will now also face a charge of failing to surrender.
A 22-year-old from Bristol was due to answer five separate charges on the same day - four for damaging the wing mirrors of cars and one for assaulting a police detention officer.
Richard McCarthy didn’t turn up and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Adrian Parker, of County Road, only had a short journey to the court but he also did not appear as instructed.
The 45-year-old, who is also subject to a suspended sentence order, is accused of being drunk and disorderly outside Lava Lounge in Fleet Street on September 3.
He will also have to face an additional charge of failing to surrender when he eventually makes it into the dock.
