NICK Morris sees no shortcomings in the Swindon Robins rider line-up as they look to take a firm grip on the SGB Premiership Grand Final this evening.

Swindon host Wolverhampton Wolves at the Abbey Stadium tonight in the first leg of the final, with the outcome then to be decided in the second leg at Monmore Green on Wednesday.

After starting the season reliant on strong performances from their Australian aces Morris and number one Jason Doyle, the entire Swindon team have upped their game the longer the campaign has gone on as they finished the year sitting top of the table.

Tobiasz Musielak, David Bellego, Adam Ellis and Bradley Wilson-Dean are all capable of winning heats regularly and Morris believes the ability to deliver good points hauls right through the order could be crucial to the Robins’ chances of being crowned champions.

“We have got a pretty strong team, we are strong all the way through. Every heat we have got at least one rider that you can be pretty confident is going to pop out and do something,” said 23-year-old Morris.

“It makes it a lot easier for the rest of the team when you know you have got that back-up.

“That one change in the middle of the season where we brought in Tobiasz Musielak changed the team. It gave us that bit of strength in depth and that’s what we needed.

“It makes it so much easier. If you have only got two riders that are scoring all the points, when it comes to the big meetings against the really good teams, it is never going to be enough.

“The boys started firing when we brought in Tobiasz and it is all clicking and everything is good.

“We have two meetings to go and we want to finish the season strong and now we’re in the final, anything can happen.”

Morris has enjoyed a superb personal season for the Robins and only Doyle and Wolves number one Freddie Lindgren, who has been ruled out of the final injured, currently boast a higher average throughout the Premiership.

The youngster, who is already in his sixth season at the Abbey Stadium, is proud to have become a model of consistency for Swindon.

“I think it’s been good all the way through. I started the year well and I have managed to keep that going all the way through,” said Morris.

“That was my goal at the start of the year, to find some consistency and score good points in every meeting and I have managed to do that and also managed to do some racing in Poland, Sweden and Denmark as well. For me, it’s been a really good year.”
