STONE-throwing yobs smashed the window of a bus – delaying passengers heading to the town centre.

Thamesdown’s number 12 service between Great Western Hospital and the town centre was targeted while driving down Queen’s Drive last night.

The vandals, who are described as “youths” attacked the bus at around 6pm on Monday.

The attack forced the bus service, which had left GWH at 5.52pm and was due to arrive into town at 6.17pm, to be cancelled.

Nobody is believed to have been injured in the incident.

Alex Chutter, Thamesdown’s general manager, said: “One of our buses sustained damage after youths threw stones and broke windows whilst the vehicle was operating in Queen's Drive.

“There were no injuries reported but the incident forced a delay to our service. We do not tolerate vandalism, and we are studying CCTV to help identify the perpetrators.”
