DEVIZES Town boss Darran Walters is expecting disciplinary action from the FA after their match with Keynsham Town finished in unsavoury scenes on Tuesday night.

In the 4-2 defeat, Devizes found themselves 2-0 down early on, before pegging it back to 2-2 at the interval.

However, the hosts were able to kick on in the second half to seal victory.

After the match, the visitors’ Jake Roberts was sent off along with Keynsham’s Craig Wilson, with the pair confronting each other over an alleged stamp.

Supporters were also involved, which has left the Devizes manager anticipating FA intervention.

“We felt one of our players got stamped on and it went unnoticed in the game by the referee and the linesman,” he said.

“That just spilled over after the game, the two players have had a bit of confrontation, nothing more than that.

“The player shouldn’t have done it and there was a big melee at the end of the game.

“It wasn’t a niggly game, but there was an incident from one of their players which started the big bust-up.

“We reacted to to it, there were supporters on the pitch and we will both have to face the fine for that, when the FA decide on it.

“But we have to get bounce back, get back on the bike on Saturday with three points against Wincanton Town at home.”

At the weekend, Devizes were 4-2 victors over Chard Town away from home, thanks to an own goal and a hat-trick from Tom Slater.

Things have picked up for Corsham Town as they stretched their unbeaten run to five games with a 2-0 triumph over Almondsbury at Southbank Ground.

After one win in their opening six fixtures, Jamie Harrison’s troops registered their third win of the campaign on Saturday, thanks to goals from Ben Wickens and Josh Bright.

Calne Town’s slump continued with a 3-0 defeat away to Welton Rovers, leaving them one point above bottom-of-the-league Sherbourne Town.

Chippenham Park were able to bounce back from their 5-1 defeat at Radstock Town, with a 3-1 win against Bishop Sutton on the road.

Park, who are without a manager following the departure of Brett Partner, went 1-0 down at the break, before goals from Jamie Norman, who got two, and Charlie Norman who got the other grabbed a 3-1 win.

Malmesbury Victoria were in a FA Vase action, losing 3-1 to London Lions in their replayed tie on Sunday afternoon.
