A CREATIVE 10-year-old from Christian Malford Primary School has been named as one of five runners up in the south west for her category in the Royal Mail’s Christmas stamp design competition this year.

Maddy Uzzell’s colourful present design was part of a select few to be picked from more than 200,000 entries for further consideration and the school is delighted that she was picked as one of the runners up in the 7-11 category.

Headteacher Andrea Kaye said: “Maddy is a very skilful artist and we feel incredibly proud that her talents have been recognised in this way.”

Every child at Christian Malford Primary School took part in the competition, which is now in its fourth year and, thanks to Maddy’s success, both she and the school have been awarded £100 each.

The winning stamps, which were picked by Prince Charles, were designed by Ted Lewis-Clark, 10, from Frome, and Arwen Wilson, nine, from Dudley and will go on sale on November 7 in store and online via the Royal Mail website.
