A CHOIR made up of Prospect Hospice staff, volunteers and additional singing enthusiasts have added their voices to a recording session with Choirs with Purpose, which they hope will take them all the way to this Christmas’s number one.

The Prospect Singers recently travelled to a recording studio in Bristol to record their own contribution to the Paul McCartney and Frog Chorus festive classic We All Stand Together. The track will feature hospice choirs from across the UK.

The choir also recorded backing vocals to Britain’s Got Talent star Susan Boyle’s version of My Heart Will Go On, from the film Titanic.

Sandra Knox, Family Support Team leader at Prospect Hospice said: “There are 45 hospice choirs from across the UK taking part and it’s thought that 1,600 singers will be involved in total. “We think it has a very good chance of being number one.”

Profits from the sales of the album will go towards the funds of each of the charities taking part. “I hope it succeeds for that reason – that hospices and other charities will benefit from its success this Christmas, but I also think there is something good about encouraging more people to join a local choir,” adds Sandra.
