POLICE and paramedics raced to the aid of a man threatening to jump from the roof of a multi-storey car park this afternoon.
Spring Gardens was temporarily closed to traffic while emergency crews worked to persuade the individual concerned to come down safely from the roof of the adjacent car park.
Fortunately, officers on the scene were able to achieve just that conclusion and the man was passed to paramedics from the South Western Ambulance Service.
The road reopened shortly after 3.30pm.
