WOULD-BE volunteers who want to offer their skills to Prospect Hospice are being invited to an open morning at the charity’s warehouse on Saturday.

There are 17 shops in Swindon, Marlborough and nearby towns and last year they helped to raise more than £2 million towards the cost of providing care and services to 2,600 patients and their families.

“We’ve got volunteering opportunities for people at the warehouse sorting the donated items, including books and clothes, for distribution to our shops,” Said Sue Starkey, head of voluntary services.

“We want people who can commit to four hours a week at the warehouse, because for us to really make the most of the donations people make to Prospect Hospice, we need to bring in more volunteers. On the open morning, we’ll be talking to people about how they can match their own skills to the way the warehouse is run.”

She added: “We’re looking forward to meeting volunteers who want to come and be part of a fun but very motivated team, working together to support their local hospice.”

Prospect Hospice Warehouse is at the Wroughton Business Park and will be open 9.30am and 1pm on Saturday. Contact info@prospect-hospice.net or call voluntary services on 01793 816193 for further information.
