Athletics club Swindon Harriers need another 10 volunteers to help them cope with demand from sporty youngsters.

The club, which meets at the County Ground athletics track, currently have 150 young runners on their waiting lists.

“You come down here on Wednesday night and it’s packed,” said Harriers chairman Bryan Clinton. “We’re a big town and there’s lots of potential.”

The Harriers are hoping to find “another five to 10” volunteers to help coach the aspiring athletics stars of the future.

Try-out nights for the club are on Wednesdays, from 6.15pm.
