A WOMAN who was knocked down by a car remains in a serious condition in hospital.

The 48-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car involved in a two car smash on Saturday night.

She was airlifted to the major trauma centre at Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

Police have said that the woman remains in a “serious but stable condition”.

Her husband, 49, was also seriously injured in the crash. He is being cared for at Southmead Hospital.

The crash took place at around 7pm on Spine Road East in Ashton Keynes, at the junction of Wickwater Lane and Broadway Lane.
