A 16-year-old who is said to have stabbed another lad on a summer afternoon is to face trial by judge and jury.
The teenager pleaded not guilty to charges of wounding with intent and having a bladed article when he appeared at Swindon Crown Court.
He is alleged to have stabbed another 16-year-old in a field between Thornhill Drive, St Andrew's Ridge, and Lukas Close, Ash Brake, at about 3pm on Saturday July 8.
Judge Tim Mousley QC adjourned the case to Monday March 12 next year and released the lad, who cannot be named for legal reasons, on bail until then.
