Powercut hits Old Town
MORE than 2,000 homes and businesses across Old Town and Eastcott suffered a power blackout this morning.
SSE said they had received reports of powercuts in the SN1 area from shortly before 7am this morning.
Engineers were called in to restore power and some properties were back on within a matter of minutes. Supplies to most were restored by 9am.
The cause of the problem was said to be a fault in an underground cable.
