A MUCH-LOVED family heirloom was stolen in a burglary at the home of an elderly couple in Swindon.

The man’s watch, a gold Longines, was inherited from the victim’s father and bears a personal inscription.

PC Simon Talbot said: “This particular watch is really unique and is approximately 50 years old, so we are really keen to locate it and return it to the owners who have understandably been left feeling really upset about this incident.

It was taken from the house in Severn Avenue at around 5.40pm on November 14.

PC Talbot added: “Our enquiries are on-going but we would really like to hear from anyone who may have information about the incident or anyone who can help us reunite this couple with the watch.”

Anybody with information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
