A YOUNG woman who "lured" a teenager to his death on the blade of a knife has failed in a bid to get her murder conviction overturned.

Sanaa Sayed Ibrahim, 20, passed on information to three teenagers who carried out a fatal attack on Jeremie Malenge, 17, in January 2015.

Ibrahim, of Homerton Road, Hackney, lured Jeremie from Swindon to where the killers lurked in wait for him in Homerton High Street.

She was found guilty of murder, along with three teenage boys, and locked up for life in September 2015.

Ibrahim was ordered to serve at least 14 years behind bars before she can even apply for parole.

On Wednesday at London's Appeal Court, she asked the Lord Chief Justice, Lord Burnett, to overturn her conviction, claiming her trial was unfair.

The judge, sitting with Mr Justice Teare and Mr Justice Kerr, heard Ibrahim travelled with Jeremie and his friend from Swindon to London on the evening of the attack.

When the group arrived at Hackney Central station, they were chased by the three male attackers through the streets for half an hour.

While Ibrahim was with Jeremie, she secretly texted and called one of her co-accused 36 times, the court heard.

As Jeremie ran away, Ibrahim managed to meet the attackers face-to-face to pass on information, then rejoined him, the jury heard.

Jeremie was stabbed multiple times and received a fatal heart wound. His friend managed to get away.

Ibrahim was not present at the time of the stabbing, but was sitting yards away and saw the killers dispose of bloody knives.

Her lawyers argued she was never party to any agreement to kill Jeremie and played no part in the violence she had not foreseen.

But rejecting her challenge, Lord Burnett said: "This was a planned, joint-enterprise, knifing which was believed to have stemmed from a dispute about drugs.

"She travelled from Swindon to Hackney on the day of the killing. It was clear that she was not disassociating herself from the attackers.

"She lured the victim to where the fatal attack was to take place. She was a key planner in the whole enterprise.

"The jury by their verdict accepted that she was party to a joint enterprise both before and after the stabbing.

"This application for permission to appeal conviction is dismissed."
