SWITCH On To Swindon's ambassadors were treated to an evening of sporting excitement from one of the town's coolest sports teams - and their reception was far from frosty.

The Swindon Wildcats welcomed Switch On To Swindon ambassadors to their home at the Link Centre in West Swindon after their match against the London Raiders.

With ambassadors including Nationwide, Intel, Honda, Wyvern Theatre, Total Guide and Swindon Town Football Club, Switch On To Swindon is a campaign designed to highlight the strength of Swindon as a place to live, work, invest in and visit. It celebrates Swindon’s hidden gems and symbols of change.

Since becoming ambassadors earlier this year, the Swindon Wildcats have had a presence within the campaign, featuring in their “Swindon In Motion” video, which received more than 127,000 views online.

Swindon Wildcats commercial manager Sally Price said: "It's important to shout about our home town and all the great things we have going on.

"This event is probably the biggest corporate function we will ever hold at the Wildcats and I feel that it has given us the chance to show Swindon that not only do we have a great ice hockey club but that we up there on a commercial level too.

"It gave me the opportunity to speak out to our guests about our community charity, our junior academy which is the largest in the UK and our Okanhagen hockey academy.

"So not only did we gain some news fans, as everyone there was loving the hockey but we also raised our company profile as a business and I feel the event was a massive success."
