Pupils at Meadowpark School and Nursery raised £221 for Children In Need by accessorising their uniform with stylish spots.

Children at the nursery also sold homemade chocolate rice krispies cakes, teddy bear biscuits and cupcakes in return for donations.

Headteacher Rajvinder Kular was delighted by how eagerly everyone at the school got into the fundraising spirit.

She said: “We are quite a small school with only 71 children, so this is a really nice amount to raise, the parents were very generous.

“Some of the children made their own accessories, a few teachers also had spots all over them, which was great, and there were a lot of lovely smells wafting through the nursery because of the cakes.

“We try to do something a little different every year for Children In Need to inspire the children and get them interested.

“It’s such a worthwhile cause and it’s important for the children to learn about helping others.

“Everyone gets involved with Children In Need, it’s a big day and it’s about children raising money to help other children, which is lovely.”
