THE winner of a special Parliamentary Christmas card competition is a Holy Family Catholic Primary School pupil.

Tyra Galang was awarded first prize for a design that captured the full spirit of Christmas and included Father Christmas, a Christmas tree and the table set for Christmas lunch.

The competition was organised by South Swindon MP Robert Buckland, who holds it every year.

He said: “I would like to say a big thank you to all of the children who took part in my Christmas card competition this year and to all of the staff who helped to make this possible.

“I received so many fantastic entries and it was very difficult to choose the winners.”

Runners-up were Kenny Wraight from Bishopstone Primary School with a striking snowman design, and Holly Scott from Chiseldon Primary School with a “stunning” Christmas tree design.

All the winning designs will be professionally printed and sent to businesses, public sector organisations, schools, charities and community groups, as well as to councillors, MPs and ministers.
