THE Swindon Spitfire Girls' FC Under 11s have received a new free kit, courtesy of local McDonald’s franchisee Carl Room and The FA Accredited Club Kit Scheme.

The donation is just one of over 3,000 kits that have been donated to teams across Wiltshire.

Now in its fourth year, the McDonald’s kit scheme has reached a new milestone, by providing over 250,000 free kits to grassroots football clubs across the UK, with a further 70,000 to be delivered this season alone.

As a long-standing partner of the FA, this year McDonald’s is celebrating its 15th anniversary of enabling children and young adults of all genders, ages and abilities to play and enjoy football.

Mr Room said: “Swindon Spitfire Girls FC is a fantastic example of a grassroots club with a real community spirit. It’s important that we support local teams to help them create the best possible experience for young aspiring players”.

Swindon Spitfire Girls' FC is an FA Charter Standard accredited club, and is one of the oldest women’s and girls’ football clubs in the country.

Beverly Maull, secretary of Swindon Spitfire Girls FC, said: “We’re hugely grateful to McDonald’s for donating a new kit for our U11s team. An average team strip costs around £500 per season, so this means we can spend the money on other areas of the club that need it”.
