A MUSICIAN from Old Town is launching his new single with a party on Saturday.
Bricklayer Gerard Gearon began his new career with a bang after getting his first single played on BBC Radio 6music earlier this year.
Now he's looking forward to launching his newest song Walk Away with a listening party at his home, 4 Carlisle Avenue in Old Town, at 6pm on Saturday night.
Live music will be played from 10pm and there'll also be beat poetry, electronica, dancehall and reggae music.
Gerard said: "Lyrically, my songs seem to be connecting with people.
"This one was cathartic for me.
"After my dad died, I found out my wife was having an affair and I was really struggling.
"It was a poem at first which I then put to music, it's all about walking away from something awful and starting again."
His current wife Alinka Gearon said: "When he recorded the vocals on the first day in the studio, before any of the other songs he's released so far, the producer looked at me and we both knew it was good."
Tickets for the party are available for £5 by emailing SN3Records@gmail.com or call, 0773492792, or £10 on the door, and the first drink is free.
