PUBLICANS at The Beehive have raised £2,100 for Christmas Care Swindon with a raffle.

Beehive barman Jason Moore has worked tirelessly since October to gather 260 top prizes for raffle entrants, including brewery tours, artwork, vouchers for restaurants and beauty treatments, and tickets for days out.

He presented a cheque to Diane Kellick from Christmas Cares at the Old Town pub on Thursday.

Diane was amazed by their generosity.

She said: "We're a very small charity so having this support is monumental.

"We rely solely on donations to keep going and this will help pay the bills.

"We're very grateful, it's like they're giving us a great big hug."

Jason said: "I'm very pleased with the community in Swindon who have donated the prizes and I'm so proud of our customers for their generosity, it's a truly staggering amount to raise.

"We wanted to raise money for a charity that was seasonal and local and Christmas Care was the obvious choice."

Last year, the Beehive raised £1,600 for the charity with a similar raffle.
