EMERGENCY services were called to this morning's Swindon Parkrun after a runner had a medical episode just 500m from the starting line.

It is understood two ambulances, a rapid response car and three police units attended the weekly run at Lydiard Park just after 9am.

It is not yet known the condition of the runner but one person reported that it is believed they had a heart attack.
