A POLICE car was taken off the road following a Mannington Roundabout crash.

A vehicle went into the back of the police car at 6.45pm on Thursday near John Lewis, Wiltshire Police said. Nobody was injured in the crash.

The accident came just minutes after a multiple-car pile-up on the Great Western Way that shut the road in both directions for two hours between Mannington and Blagrove roundabouts last night.

A Honda Civic, Volkswagen Polo and Volkswagen Scirocco were involved in the crash.

Firefighters, police and paramedics all responded to the accident – receiving the call at 6.40pm.

Crews from Drove Road, Westlea and Royal Wootton Bassett fire stations were called to the scene. Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said that their crews were not asked to free anyone from their vehicles.

A spokeswoman for Wiltshire Police said there were “no serious injuries” in the crash.

No arrests have been made in relation to either incident.
