JEREMY Corbyn rolled into Swindon on Saturday for the second time in as many weeks.

The Labour leader headed to New College to rally the troops before doing a spot of door knocking in Stratton.

The event was billed as a Labour ‘day of action’ to help get party members into battle mode ahead of this year’s local elections.

Mr Corbyn was joined by shadow international development minister Kate Osamor.

Reporters were barred from attending the event, but, speaking on social media afterwards, the leader said: “Thank you everyone for coming out today, on a Labour campaign day to defend the NHS, our NHS. It’s there for all of us, for all time if we make sure it is.

“Our campaign days are about building up for the local elections. There was a lot of support there because people want a council that builds houses, that supports social care and reopens Sure Start centres.”

He claimed the party was fighting the Tories hard on privatisation and slammed their “disgraceful attitude” to the NHS.

The Chippenham-born MP said he and Ms Osamor had received a “wonderful reception” in Swindon.
