A MAN who is accused of starting a fire at a town centre hotel has been remanded in custody by a judge.
Martin O’Brien is charged with arson being reckless as to whether life was endangered in relation to an alleged incident at the Holiday Inn on Henry Street.
The 41-year-old, of Rogers Close, is said to have set light to cladding at the building on Monday December 18.
And on the same day he is also charged with arson with intent to endanger life where he is accused of setting light to a man’s duvet.
O’Brien was due to appear before a judge at Swindon Crown Court by videolink from Bullingdon Prison but for technical reasons was not present.
Judge Robert Pawson adjourned the case to Friday January 26 and remanded him in custody until then.
