A Swindon motorcyclist has died following a crash in west Oxfordshire on Thursday.

Thames Valley Police confirmed that a 75-year-old man from the Swindon area died at the scene of the incident in Little Faringdon.

The crash, on the A361 at around 11.35am on Thursday, 25 January, involved a Triumph motorcycle and a blue Mercedes car.

The road was closed while emergency services attended.

The motorcyclist’s next of kin have been informed.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene. An investigation is ongoing into the circumstances of the collision and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Sergeant Chris Ruff, of Thames Valley Police’s Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing, said: "I would like to appeal for anyone who saw the collision which occurred on the A361 at Little Faringdon between Burford and Lechlade in which a man sadly died.
