A TEEN who suffered a cardiac arrest during a football training session last week has died.

His “devastated” family will “never be the same”, relatives said.

Paramedics, police, SWIFT doctors and Wiltshire Air Ambulance were called to Croft Sports Centre last Wednesday, following reports that a boy had collapsed.

Fletcher Payne, 16, was air lifted to Southampton General Hospital. His family said he passed away on Friday.

A GoFundMe page set up to raise money for the boy’s grieving family has so far raised more than £1,700 – with almost 100 people donating money.

The fundraising page's founder, Larrisa Payne, wrote: “He’s loved by so many and will leave a huge void in everyone’s lives. His mum, dad and two sisters have been left devastated by this sad, sudden loss. Their gang will never be the same.

“Fletch was a fit and active 16-year-old from Swindon who had a passion for football, particularly Spurs! He was adamant that when he grew up he was going to move to New Zealand and work at Hobbiton. He loved everything Hobbit and could name every single one.”
