Jewellery and workman's tools were stolen in a theft in Royal Wootton Bassett.

Police are appealing for information about the incident, which took place at an address in Longleaze between 5.30pm on 29 January and 9am on 30 January.

A quantity of jewellery was stolen, as well as workman’s tools left at the address overnight.

In particular, an RAF Long Service and Good Conduct medal, which had the owner’s service number, rank and name inscribed on it, was stolen, as were an inscribed silver St Christopher chain, and a 1754 Maria Theresa Silver Dollar.

PC Rob Wilson said: “We are really keen to locate these items and return them to their owner – many of the items are inscribed and have sentimental value.

“We are keeping an open mind as to whether this burglary is linked to any others in the area and our enquiries are continuing.

“We’d like to hear from anyone who may have information – did you see or hear anything suspicious in the area during these times? Please get in touch.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact Wiltshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
