FRIED chicken fans can flock back to KFC – with the fast food chain confirming that all four of their Swindon restaurants have reopened.

KFC have been forced to close more than 500 branches across the country this week, after a cock-up by new delivery firm DHL left restaurants without chicken.

A spokesman said that they were working “flat out” to get chicken supplies to their restaurants.

He said: “Each day more deliveries are being made. However, we expect the disruption to some restaurants to continue over the remainder of the week, meaning some will be closed and others operating with a reduced menu or shortened hours.”

According to KFC’s website, all four Swindon restaurants have now reopened.

The four restaurants are:

:: Swindon Designer Outlet, Kemble Drive

:: Greenbridge Retail Park, Drakes Way

:: Delta Business Park, off Great Western Way

:: 13 Clive Parade, Cricklade Road

The chicken shortage has ruffled the feathers of diners across the country.

Police officers in London and Manchester took to social media, urging people not to call 999 or 101 to complain about the chicken shortage. Wiltshire Police appears to have escaped the problem emergency calls.

Metropolitan Police officers based at Tower Hamlets tweeted: “Please do not contact us about the KFC crisis – it is not a police matter if your favourite eatery is not serving the menu that you desire.”

Whitefield’s Greater Manchester Police officers tweeted: “For those who contacted the police about KFC being out of chicken…please STOP!”

A spokeswoman for Wiltshire Police said that the force had not been contacted about the KFC chicken shortage.
