TOY collectors and enthusiasts visited the County Ground on Sunday to browse hundreds of figurines and playthings from the past.

Action figures, plastic models, teddy bears and trains were on show at the toy fair.

It had been held in the same venue in January and was so popular that its organiser Ronnie Davies decided to make a swift return to the County Ground.

He said: "It's been fantastic.

"We've got dealers from all over the country and a great mix of stuff on sale.

"There's a massive selection here from the 1920s to modern day- toys for kids, for families who want to get nostalgic, and for collectors.

"Considering we only started this in January, it's gone very well - we also have vintage toy societies in Cirencester and Didcot.

"Our ethos is to give the dealers good value for money, plenty of space, and great venues to work in.

"I was brought up just over the road and used to see the County Ground floodlights from my bedroom, so I'm proud to be associated with STFC.

"It's great to be here and we will be around for years to come."

Ian Holdaway came all the way from Hampshire to attend the fair.

He said: "I collect action figures and then have to sell some to pay for the hobby,.

"I like the thrill of the chase, of finding something rare, even if it's not that valuable.

"It's nice to be here meeting people and talking toys."

Steve Blackwell of Royal Wootton Bassett Bears buys and sells vintage teddies online.

He said: "I've always loved teddy bears, which is a bit weird for a man,

"I'm fascinated by their histories - where they came from, who wanted and loved them."

"Some are from 1910 that we've repaired and dressed, some are going to hospitals.

"I don't really know much about anything else - you can show me a load of die-cast figurines and I wouldn't have a clue, but I can pick out types of bears easily."
