A DRIVER was hit with a weapon in a road-rage attack in Swindon.

The assault occurred around 9.30pm on Tuesday January 16 at the junction of Gladstone Street and Manchester Road.

Police sent out an appeal for witnesses shortly after the incident and are now re-appealing with a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in relation the assault.

After a dispute over driving, a man in his 40s who was driving a black BMW was approached by another man who hit him with an unknown weapon.

The attacker then kicked the victim's car, causing a dent, and left the scene in a dark grey Audi.

The victim sustained minor injuries.

The offender is described as Asian, aged mid to late-20s, slender to medium build and approximately 5ft 10ins tall with short dark hair.

He is believed to have been wearing a burgundy hooded top and it is believed that there were three or four other people in his vehicle.
