AN OSCAR-WINNING short film starring a deaf girl from Swindon will get its national TV debut at Easter.
The Silent Child, starring 10-year-old Maisie Sly, will be shown on BBC One on Good Friday, March 30, at 7.40pm.
The short film follows Maisie's character Libby, a deaf child born to hearing parents who struggle to communicate with their daughter until a care worker, played by former Hollyoaks star Rachel Shenton, comes to visit.
Rachel also wrote the film and signed her acceptance speech when it won Best Live Action Short Film at the Oscars.
Maisie travelled to LA earlier this month with her family to attend the awards ceremony and walk the red carpet.
This is her first ever acting role and she was cast after Rachel and the film's director Chris Overton saw more than a hundred auditions from deaf and hard-of-hearing children who wanted to play the lead role.
