MAD March hares only have until tonight to get any last-minute registrations in ahead of this weekend's action-packed run.

The popular fun-run will return on Sunday to Lydiard Park, once again raising funds for Breast Cancer Now.

Participants can choose to tackle either a 5km or 10km circuit - there are some who run flat out in an effort to beat their fellow runners home but there are many who take part just for the enjoyment of the event.

Some cover the course in running gear, others with colourful clothing, some wear bunny ears and others go the full distance and dress up from head to toe in fancy dress.

The Mad March Hare was inspired by Irene Hare, a member of Swindon Twin Peaks Power Walking group and a keen fundraiser for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Irene lost her life to breast cancer in 2006, aged only 46.

A group of friends and supporters of Wiltshire Breakthrough Group recognised the opportunity to start a 5km and 10km event aiming to encourage people to become more active and to raise funds for Breakthrough Breast Cancer Wiltshire Group.

To register for the run, visit www.madmarchhare.org.uk before midnight tonight.
