A WOMAN in her 20s was injured after being hit by a bus on a Swindon roundabout on Friday morning.

Now bus operator Stagecoach has launched an investigation into the incident after the woman was hit by one of their buses at the junction of County Road and Manchester Road just before 7am.

Emergency services are undersood to have been called to County Road just before 7am following reports of the incident.

A spokesperson for South West Ambulance Service said: "We were called today at 6.50am to attend a collision between a pedestrian and a bus on the junction of County Road/Manchester Road, Swindon.

"We attended with an ambulance.

"A female patient was treated at the scene."

Wiltshire Police confirmed that they sent two police vehicles to the scene and that the woman had minor injuries.

This afternoon a spokesman for Stagecoach said: “We hope the person involved in the collision is doing fine.

“Paramedics described her injuries as minor and we’ve been in touch with the police.

"We understand that they will not be taking any further action.

“We are carrying out an investigation and checking CCTV to see what we can learn from this incident”
