A CACHE of more than 20 drug needles has been dumped yards from an Old Town primary school.

The syringes are believed to have been left last night on the corner of Prospect Place and King William Street.

Also among the drug paraphernalia – dumped around the corner from King William Street Primary School – were used sterile wipe packaging and confidential patient letters.

Pensioner Reg Jackson, 89, said of the drug litter: “It’s disgusting.”

A spokesman for Swindon Borough Council said: “The council is responsible for needles on public land and members of the public can report needles through the council’s website which is monitored continuously.

“Any needles on private land are the landowners responsibility and should be reported to them if found. The council can provide advice and guidance to landowners on how to dispose of needles if required.”
