SCHOOL inspectors praised pupils at a Park North school as caring and thoughtful.

The quality of the teaching at Goddard Park Primary School was also lauded, with Ofsted - the education watchdog - giving the school a Good inspection rating.

In her report, Ofsted inspector Claire Mirams said: "This leadership tem has maintained the good quality of education in the school...Your vision for Goddard Park is ambitious and determined.

"Pupils told me that they value being part of the Goddard Park community. They appreciate the broad and imaginative curriculum and the range of experiences on offer."

She said that improvements following a previous inspection had been implemented, with more focused checks on teaching and managers making better use of pupils' workbooks to make sure the youngsters' work is improving.

Welcoming the Good rating, headteacher Mike Welsh said: "This is our sixth Ofsted inspection and we continue to show high levels of excellence.

"This is down to first class teachers and support staff who ensure our children achieve high results. We are pleased with the support our school receives from parents."

Reg Thoburn, chair of governors at Goddard Park Primary School, said he was delighted by the latest report: "It shows our school continuing to go from strength to strength."
