A GOLF day held in memory of Jason Titcombe raised £960 for Swindon MIND.

His friend John Burn won the golf competition and received a trophy which Jason had sponsored in 2012 that was renamed the Jason Titcombe Memorial Trophy after he passed away last year.

John said: "It was a really good day and we didn't expect to raise this much money.

"We raised £800 on the day, which is wonderful, and the rest was chipped in from friends who couldn't come.

"There were 24 of us altogether and everyone brought something to auction, plus the Wrag Barn Golf Club offered t-shirts and clubs to sell.

"All the prize money went to MIND, too, and Jason's dad Ken played golf and presented the trophy. Jason would have been proud."

The event will be held next year and the winner will once again receive the trophy named in Jason's honour.
